Busy Little Bee.

Just a little bit of my crazy life recently (really this is just to make me feel better about being such a lazy crafter).

McKenzie Pond Hikes with the Bears.

Swimming Breaks for my Wally Bear.

Long Wally Walks at the Bog Jog.

The I Love New York Horse Show Grand Prix.

Who knew dogs could get sunburns?  We found out the hard way....Poor poor Wally.

Birthday Celebrations with Friends.

Cliff Jumping on Hot Days at the Flumes.

Planning/Organizing/ & Working a Giant Yard Sale.
And Finishing it off with a Wonderful Bluegrass Band at the Bandshell.

Now don't you feel so bad for me?  Okay, so maybe I'm having a little too much fun with my summer, but I think that's what you should do in the summer right?

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Oooof.

Well, I'm just a terrible blogger.  And crafter.

I spent my day working a non-stop 12 hour shift (2 jobs back to back), and I spent my night with a glass of wine watching firemen put out a fire across the street with my boyfriend.  This of course is very exciting stuff in a small town like ours.

Lets just say, I slacked a wee bit on the crafting.  I will make a super awesome wonderful craft for this next week.  However this upcoming weekend is a huge crazy busy weekend at my restaurant.  We'll see how that goes....

On the plus side, I planned and organized a giant garage sale yesterday!  It was a huge success and we all sold a bunch of stuff!  Does that count as a craft?  Yeah yeah, I'll make one.

Anyway, hope your summer is going as well (and as quickly - how is it already half way through July!?) as mine is!

I will leave you with these wonderful Summer images.

Summer Has Arrived.

Here we are, July tenth, and it finally feels like summer is here!  Town is blossoming with tourists, the sun is shining (almost) every day, swimming seems like a good idea, the bugs are everywhere, and grills are on full heat.

It is so wonderful.

I love this time of year.  There is something so beautiful about being in a place that is so cold for so long, that really makes everyone smile when we finally get rewarded with nice weather.  I think that must be why we all stick around for those ten month long winters.  Right?

That being said, I'm currently trying to grow my hair out and it has been rather warm here, so cute new ways to wear my hair up are a must for this summer.  After being inspired by this Anthropologie scarf -

Anthropologie Scarf

I made my own modified version with a scarf that I never where anymore, and -
Voila!
Project #31 - Scarf Headband

I did use a much smaller scarf for this experimental project, but I did like the finished product, and it stays put!  Thats the thing about headbands, they need to stay put.

Just the Headband.
Perhaps next time I'll use a big scarf, however I'm not so sure I'm a big bow kind of gal.  I guess we'll find out soon.

Enjoy this warm summer weather!

One Day.

Sitting inside on this glorious day, makes a girl dream.

Ooooo boy, how much fun does that look?!  I wish I wish I wish!

Photo Care of treehugger.com
So much fun right?

On a different note, look at these kitties?  I think that I've been drawing too much inspiration from them recently - yesterday I took a 2 hour nap!  They make me sleepy just looking at them.
Bookend Lazybone Kitties.
This is what they do all day, everyday.  Anza and Dr. Bruce at their best.  Doesn't that look wonderful?

Well, I Might Have Skipped a Week or Two.

I guess I am officially, a bad blogger.  I took a week off, and then somehow one more slipped on by.  Time just flies when you're having fun.  And by fun, I mean working all the time.

Summer has switched into full gear here in this little tourist town, which means lots and lots of working.  Not so much crafting.  However, I am trying very hard to make it a priority, so here goes nothin'.

My late project from last week;
Project #29 - Domino Keepsake Box
Don't old dominos look so awesome?  The tricky thing about them, is finding them..... turns out, not so many people are into dominos these days.  Well anyway, I like this domino box which will probably soon house matches or a lighter perhaps.  One can never have too many cute boxes.

And my next project (the one for this week!) is.........

Project #30 - Lemon Skirt/Dress
Who doesn't like bright lemons in the summer?  Not me, I just love them.

This was actually really easy to make -  I cut an old tank top in half, wrapped some fabric around me, and sewed them together!  I can never have to many dresses, it's pretty much what I live in.  Now that I've done it once, nothing can stop me.  Except watching a movie/eating/sleeping/working/petting Wally - probably one or two things.  It's so hard to stay focused.

Anyway - I hope that everyone is having a wonderful Holiday weekend!  Happy 4th everyone!

I will leave you with these very handsome bears.
My very handsome Uncle Sam Wally, however  I think that Alex really steals the show here.

Organization...or Something.

Seeing how our little family is planning on making a big move soon (across the state wooohooo!), I've been making a conscious effort to do is to get everything organized for packing.  This way settling in to the new place will be easier and (hopefully) a nice smooth transition.
That being said - ta da!

Project #28 - Organization Board
I used old wine corks cut up for the cork board, some old knobs to hang random things that I see fit at that time, and chalkboard paint to make little lists.  I put it all on a board from a wine crate that I had laying around, glued it all up, added a cute twine bow for pizazz, and there you have it!
Yay!
Now I just need to use it and get things in their proper place!

Wish me luck......

Re-Do Times Two.

Before- Old Lady Linen Dress

Fabulous After Dress! - Project #27 (And Wally looking very handsome.)
This is the re-do part one - a dress that I have of course had laying around forever, that a few changes made it a completely new dress!  It came out great.  And of course Wally looks better than ever.

And the second re-do was just a little spray paint project.  But sometimes it can make a world difference.
Before Basket
After - Shaker Basket!
Now I love it.  Nothing a few coats of spray paint can't fix.

Fell in Love on a Park Bench.

Park Bench Lovers by BreeDentice
This epitomizes spring for me.  People strolling (and smooching) in the warm spring nights.  I love it and probably need it, especially when it starts to get cold again so I can remember what is to come just by looking down at my hand.  Bree Dentice's jewelry is way too cute.  I adore this ring.

Better than Never.

Project #26 - Wall Hanging
This particular wall hanging is made out of flattened toilet paper rolls.  It took a little while to save them up, but now they are recycled into a wonderful floral thingy to hang above our bed!  I flattened them, arranged them, glued them, and spray painted them - and we have this!
Close - Up
I know this is a day late, but Alex and I had a very fun-filled and busy week/weekend.  We visited some good friends before their big move to the big city, and enjoyed a weekend of family and lovely spring weather.  I just love spring.  And I suppose it's almost summer technically!?  Yay, I love warm weather!  Hope your weekend was as good as mine.
Beach Bears.
Auntie Noodle Bear.

Obligatory Birthday & Sparkler Drink!

This is why I was not crafting.  Such fun.

Happenings.

The Bog Jog - One of Wally's Favorite Trails.
So really this is a post about how much fun photoshop is!  Look what I can do!

My Bears
I can make anything look awesome and antiquey..... is that a word?  I like it.

The bigger the stick, the better.
Hooray for photoshop!!

P.S.  Thanks Karen for the graduation present!  As you can tell, I love it.
